Executive Board Meeting

Mason, Charles Hand
Moderator, DOM Leonard Morgan,
called the meeting to order. Pastor Ron Philpot led
in prayer.
1. The nominations for 2009
officers are: Moderator – Leonard Morgan,
Vice-Moderator – Rod Stalsberg, Review Committee – Bill
Boots, WMU Director – Diane Swemline. Pastor Ron
Philpot moved to accept the nominations, Pastor Jerry
Higdon 2nd, the motion passed.
2. The Treasurer’s reports for
April-July was presented as well as the budget amounts.
Pastor Rod Stalsberg made the motion to accept, Ben McCoy
2nd, the motioned passed.
3. Leonard reported that there
will be no more S.A.L.T. meetings.
4. A report was given on the
situation at FBC of Joy. At this time, Pastor Gene
Meyers is filling the pulpit.
5. As of November 1, Seth
Bowker will take up his duties as a Church Planter.
His sponsoring church will be FSB, Colona. There are
2 target areas; SW Milan and Orion.
6. Destiny Baptist Church of
Christ has petitioned the board to come back into the
Association. The Credentials Committee will meet
with Pastor Johnson and bring back to the Executive Board
their recommendation. There will be another
Executive Board mtg. on Sept. 18th. to vote on
accepting or rejecting Destiny.
7. Pastor Jerry Higdon gave a
report on his trip to India and Bangladesh.
Bill Boots gave a report on what is
happening with Knoxville Road Baptist Church. The
building has mold and it would cost $30,000 - $50,000 to
remove it. They have decided to put the land up for
auction as well as the property of the church. The
congregation is still meeting.
Some of the upcoming events were
discussed. Our Annual meeting is 7:00 at Greater
Antioch in Rock Island on October 3. The Annual IBSA
meeting will be held Nov. 12-13 in Springfield.
The Association secretary reminded
everyone about getting in their Annual Church Profiles.
The meeting was adjourned.
